Klemperer, Otto

(1885–1973)
   Musical conductor. Klemperer came to the United States from Germany in 1933 and directed the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and then the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. After World War II he spent several years in Europe working in Budapest, Berlin and London before returning to the United States. He gave many concerts in Israel.
