Cardozo, Benjamin Nathan
- (1870–1938)US Supreme Court justice. A distinguished New York lawyer, Cardozo served on the New York Court of Appeals and was its chief justice from 1927 till he was appointed to the US Supreme Court by President Hoover in 1932. His legal erudition combined with deep humanitarian concern had a profound impact on legal doctrines and practice, especially in the years of the New Deal.
