Wouk, Herman

(b. 1915)
   American writer. Wouk was born in New York and educated at Columbia University. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He has written several best-selling novels including The Caine Mutiny (1951) and Marjorie Morningstar (1955). He has also produced an account of the Jewish faith entitled This Is My God (1959) in which he discusses his fidelity to the Orthodox traditions of his forefathers.
